What more perfect location could you choose for a hillwalking holiday? Inverness is within easy reach of the Cairngorm National Park to the South, the glorious Great Glen and Glen Affric to the South West and Ben Wyvis, The Fannichs and Torridon to the West. There are over 40 Munros (Scottish mountains over 3000ft /914m) within an hours drive of Inverness as well as numerous smaller hills with amazing character.

Add this fantastic natural playground to the excellent transport links, the wonderful local food and a great choice of accommodation in the area and Inverness has to be right up there as one of the best hillwalking holiday bases in Europe. Our mountains may not be very big by continental standards but the awesome scenery and the fact you can often climb three or four hills in a day make this area a very popular destination for all nationalities.
