Ski Touring

A couple of inches of snow and the wonderful light that results from the sun being so low in the sky totally transforms the Scottish Hills. No matter how well you know the hills in summer, come out to play in winter and get inspired.

The north-east area of Scotland around Inverness is the best bet for skiable snow in the whole of the UK. As well as big mountain ranges such as the Cairngorms and Monadh Liath, we have fanatstic lower hills such as the Cromdale Hills, Ladder Hills and Ben Wyvis on our doorstep for awesome ski touring experiences. If you are after steep ascents on skins or 'relaxing waxing' using Nordic equipment there is a suitable venue nearby for any ski tourer.

Conditions in Scotland can range from perfect powder blue-sky days to challenging conditions that will prepare you for extended ski tours in any mountain range in the world. From introductory day journeys to advanced avalance tranceiver skills training, this area is a great place to learn the basics and develop your skills!

Don't worry if you don't have your own equipment - top quality gear can be hired locally on a day to day basis.
